Sew a T-Shirt in About an Hour. No Serger, No Stress

Okay, real talk: if you’ve ever wanted to sew a t-shirt but got scared off by sleeve drama, hemming headaches, or patterns that feel like a puzzle… this one’s for you.

I designed this digital sewing pattern to be super beginner-friendly. Like, actually beginner-friendly—not “you’ll be fine if you’ve sewn five garments and own a serger” beginner-friendly. Just you, your home sewing machine, and about an hour of your time.

Why It’s So Easy (and Fun)

Here’s what makes this pattern such a chill sew:

• 🧵 No serger needed — Just your regular machine. That’s it.

• ✂️ Raw edge hems — No hemming. No folding. No fuss.

• 👘 Built-in kimono sleeves — So you don’t have to mess with setting in sleeves (which, let’s be honest, can be a pain).

• ⏱️ Quick to sew — Most folks finish it in about an hour.

• 🎥 Step-by-step video tutorial — I walk you through the whole thing on YouTube, so you’re never sewing solo.

What You’ll Need

If you’re wondering what tools or supplies you’ll need, I’ve got you covered. These are my go-to picks for this project (yep, they’re affiliate links, which means I earn a small commission if you grab something—thank you for supporting my work!):

My favorite cutting tools

The exact sewing machine I used in the video

Ballpoint needles for knits

Wash-away fabric chalk

Jersey knit fabric (this is an option, but there are many others)

Sew It Your Way

This pattern is perfect for customizing—crop it, lengthen it, play with different fabric prints and color blocking. It’s a great canvas for experimenting without the pressure. And if you’re brand new to sewing garments, this is a great confidence booster.

And remember, I’m here to help if you need me. Send me an email or comment on the video and I’ll respond soon!
